The ADSS Cable employs a loose-tube stranded structure, where optical fibers are inserted into loose tubes made of high-modulus material, and the tubes are filled with a waterproof compound. The loose tubes (and filler ropes) are stranded around a non-metallic central reinforcing core (FRP) to form a compact cable core. The cable core is protected against water using water-blocking yarn and tape. A polyethylene (PE) inner sheath is extruded over the cable core, followed by stranding of reinforcing aramid yarn, and finally, an outer polyethylene (PE) sheath or an anti-tracking (AT) outer sheath is extruded.
